The mural was part of an internal Petrobras project, an intense week of talks and actions to think about the meaning of respect and diversity among employees, especially anti-racism and anti-harassment.
The team asked me to represent the diversity of people who work at the refinery, black people, women, indigenous people, people with disabilities and people from the Northeast. While I was painting, the workers interacted with me, recognized their colleagues or recognized themselves in the images. At the end of the painting, I presented myself on stage at the event, talking briefly about my work and its importance.

O mural fez parte de um projeto interno da Petrobras, uma semana intensa com palestras e ações para pensar sobre o significa respeito e diversidade entre os funcionários, em especial pensar anti racismo e anti assédio.
A equipe me solicitou que representasse a diversidade de pessoas que trabalham na refinaria, pessoas negras, mulheres, indígenas, pessoas com deficiência, nordestinos. Enquanto eu pintava os trabalhadores interagiam comigo, reconheciam seus colegas ou se reconheciam nas imagens. Ao final da pintura me apresentei no palco do evento, falando brevemente sobre meu trabalho e sua importância.

The days I spent there affected me in many ways and still reverberate in me today. Thinking about graffiti in a refinery seemed crazy, but I understood that I was part of something much bigger, that the project was about deepening discussions and thinking about long-term actions. I was leaving a memory there so that they wouldn't forget the conversations we had, the points we had raised, so that they would reverberate in the day-to-day running of the refinery.
That's the power of art. That's the mission as an urban artist.

Os dias que passei lá me atravessaram de diversas maneiras e até hoje reverberam em mim. Pensar em um graffiti numa refinaria parecia maluquisse mas entendi que eu fazia parte de algo bem maior, que o projeto era aprofundar discussões e pensar em ações a longo prazo. Eu estava deixando ali uma memória para que não esquecessem as conversas que levantamos, os pontos em que cutucamos, para que reverberassem no dia a dia da refinaria.
Essa é a potência da arte. Essa é a missão como artista urbana.
